Unhappy Summer plans slightly ruined. :( *rant*

I have a day camp job for 4 weeks in July and then I am going on vacation, so for that period I decided I would take lessons once a week. After all that (in August) I was planning to ride twice a week. A lesson every Saturday and a free ride sometime during the week where I could work on my own and grow a better bond with X factor.
Well I can't do that anymore and am restricted to riding only once a week all summer. WHY??????

Because the bridge I take to get off Montreal and go to my barn is CRUMBLING PRACTICALLY! And they are closing half of it until the fall for some important reparations! They are spending sooo much time and money but instead of building a new bridge (which really is necessary, but they'll wait until it's really beyond repair before doing so), they are just patching it one up like they always do for everything and getting to my lessons is becoming more and more complicated due to all this construction. It's been going on since last summer. I was sure they'd have finished by now.

Because only one side is open, there are only 2 lanes. On week days, two lanes in the morning are open going towards Montreal, and in the afternoon the 2 lanes are reversed and going in the opposite direction. On the weekends they open one lane in each direction, restricting me to only riding on Saturdays since Sunday isn't a good day for me.

I'm so mad! I wanted to take advantage of the summer to ride like crazy and improve myself, but can't as much anymore. Secondary 5 will be a busy year for me and even if I convince my dad to take a lesson almost every week instead of every second week, I would probably be too busy anyways.

(sigh) rant over...

I can't imagine why on earth they would completely close the bridge in one direction? Are you sure they aren't just doing that during rush hour, and then opening it back up both ways during the day?

What's going to happen to the folks who live in the city but work away from it?

Trust me, I'm quite sure about the lanes. It's written on the website. It sucks for those who work off the island in that particular area, but since they are a minority compared to those who work on the island... well...

My trainer is the barn manager and only comes on weekends now because the only way she can get to the barn is by taking an other bridge (which they will eventually replace because it's also crumbling) that's almost at the other end of the island and it took her 3 hours. It's not worth it so she just comes on weekends now.

Here's a pic of the lovely bridge before they had to start fixing it. ><

I sometimes wished I didn't live on an island. :(
