If you live in north eastern kansas and north western missouri be on the lookout for tail thieves. Yesterday at my barn at an ARMY POST 3 horses got their tails chopped off in broad daylight (10am-noonish). We don't know who did it. The horses were in a paddock on the far side of the barn where no one looks unless you walk over there. There have been other reports of this happening all over and it's even been on the news.
A friend of mine in Canada, also lost her Gypsy Horse's tail to thieves in the night.
Lol wares, I order it. Comes pre-cleaned, lots less work! When I first started messing around with it, I did borrow from mine....had to start buying it or I'd have rat tailed QHs
I think you're in luck I doubt any one would steal an appy tail they'd have a hard time turning it int extentions....and a harder time selling it! (note I'm not dissing apply tails I love appys some of my favorite horses have been appys)
Makes me wonder if the thieves are selling the hair to not only make hair extensions but also to sell over the Internet to those who want to do horse hair hitching
The only tail thieves I have ever known are: barbed wire, hot dry weather with bugs, weanling colts, young geldings (lost the middle of the mane too), and dogs that grab the bottom of the tail and drag behind (my cousin thought it was funny until she noticed what it was doing to her horses' tails).
