    Tattoo Ideas, Opinions wanted.

    Hey guys!

So I'm looking to head in and get a tattoo here in a couple weeks. I am looking to do one of two types of images, and a couple different options. I haven't sketched it out yet (But I will before I go in) so unfortunately I'm just going to have to describe it to you. Not too complicated though!

Option 1: Picture of Selena, with a quote from my trainer around the outside. It would be the words "Step, step, step, step" all around a picture of her spinning. This is something she always says in lessons, to everyone, for the past 30 years. As soon as we start spinning, it's "Step step step step". It's an ongoing joke, so I thought that would be cool to do it like that.

Option 2: Picture of a horse running/turning a barrel, whether Selena or some clipart, with a couple quote options. Either "Life is a game, play it." or "Too fast to live, too young to die."

I was also contemplating doing a pretty head shot of Selena with any of these quotes. Go big or go home right?

Here's some pictures, none of them are anything in particular, just ones I think are kinda cool and might make for good in this situation. Tell me what you think! I'm not very experienced in this area.

(In any of these pictures, I would crop myself out and just have her)

Anddd I will be at shows between now and then and having another photo shoot so I can have better pictures to choose from then. I am going to go searching for any better pictures, doesn't necessarily have to be Selena. I'll check back soon if I find anything worth looking at!

I like the first idea....just be careful and definitely go in to the artist before hand and have them draw up plans and get the temp ink to see how your body will manipulate it.

And remember that a lot of realistic drawings and pictures turn out...not so realistic. Which is why I personally avoid realistic ones lol

So maybe a generic clip art or something with a little less details would also work???

Also remember the more detail you want the bigger it really needs to be. Especially tattoos so picture where you want it, what size that area is and kind of form the idea with those guidelines.

Yeah, I was thinking of drawing out a line art. I think my trainer would die laughing after I showed her the first one! I'm definitely leaning towards it. :)

Also remember that the shading (coloring in) is the WORST part. It takes a LONG time, and they keep going over the same area......in short-it hurts. My shaded areas are small. My kids tho-the ones with the larger tats-get to a certain point and have to give it up for the day......it hurts too much to do the shading for long in one session.

Wait a minute....you DO know tatoos are expensive? I am surprised you are even considering this given your posts of late regarding the family finances. Doesn't really make sense. I am confused.

Sorry Franknbeans, it's a birthday present from my grandfather. While he refuses to assist us for food, he likes to give us luxury things like this.

I like that beautiful head shot!! She had the nice flowy mane and the wide nostrils. Or maybe one of her sliding? I think a shot of he spinning may be a bit cumbersome for the artist to draw.

As far as the quote personally I'd pick a nicer quote, maybe something like "horses give us the wings we lack" or something to that effect. But hey, if you like it, go for it!

Have you priced it out? I can tell you that the shaded in ones my kids get take many hours.....like 12-16, at at least $100/hour.........

Well sense you did post "Opinions wanted" I'll give you mine.
I think you are beautiful the way you are. Getting a tattoo would be like scribbling graffiti on the Mona Lisa.

Actually if you used that first picture of her head you could probably get away with a black outline version (minimal shading) without taking away from the personality of it. It would be less painful anyways, for your first tattoo! That's if you get a good artist though. Horses are easy to mess up!
