I wish I could find the video I saw on tumblr the other day... a nice little debate between for / against tattoos. The main argument against tattoos is that she
thought they were offensive, graffiti on the body, and was sure that 100% of employers would think the same way.
Well, things are changing. My aunt is a nurse and has a couple tattoos that are visible depending what uniform she's wearing, I know another nurse who has them, I've seen lots of people in different offices with tattoos. I'm not saying they DON'T get in the way of your career choices, because they definitely can, but not nearly as much as they used to.
If I was ever going to get one it would be something tiny and sentimental because I'm scared of needles, but I don't think anybody should be actively discouraged from doing what they want to THEIR bodies. Do I think there should be age restrictions? Yes definitely. At sixteen my best friend got an 'awesome' tattoo that I feel she'll regret later in life
but it wasn't my place to stop her.
