teaching friends to ride?

Well, It's just something I was thinking about. I mean I wouldn't get to into it or anything, Basically doing the grooming of what not of the horse and the basics of riding. The main reason I'm asking this is because my friend is looking at getting a horse and she helps me with mine sometimes. I, in return, let her ride my horse and give her tips and what not on her riding. I always tell her though, "I could be wrong, But this is what I was taught."

Should I be doing this or am I just passing on bad habits?

It's fine to help a friend, but when it comes to learning correct riding, her best bet would be with a reputable trainer so she learns the right things.

You learn best what you learn first, and unlearning bad habits is difficult.

Yeah. Damn bad habits. I know I tip forwards to much and my damn legs moves to much but I'm working on it.

Thanks for the reply. It's just hard to come by instructors up here, I know of three I think in our region and most are over half an hours drive away. And another instructor I've heard of has been teaching things to her students wrong. The main reason I do it is because my friend can't afford to pay an instructor or she's not allowed or something.
