    Teaching horse to bow?

So I'm really busy and usually can get out to the barn twice a week tops.
Therefore, I always ride when I go to the barn.
Buttt yesterday I just decided I needed some bonding time with my pony, so I hung out with her in her stall for a while.

At one point, I tried to teach her to bow, because I had saw something on here about it and thought it would be a fun thing to do with her.

I started with putting the treat to the ground and she would put her head down to get it. When I tried to start moving it a little back [in between her front legs], she would just back up. If she backed up into the wall, she would turn her body a new direction and just back up to get the treat.

So, how did you teach your horse to bow? Did you have this problem?

I taught my first pony to bow and it was not all that difficult. (he had a halter and leadrope on the whole time)
-pick up one of the front feet (like your going to pick it)
-put a treat in between her knees. (her foot still in your hands)
-when she goes to grab the treat, pull back on her rope, as if backing her up.
-she might (not might-WILL) try to put down her foot so she can back up to get the treat.
-three angles: treat between knees, foot in the air, and back it up.
-with a good, strong grip and lots of practice, she could quite possibly learn to bow in a day.

    GOOD LUCK !!!
