Tell me Alittle about yourself and horses.

Hello, I just wanted to tell you guys alittle about my horse life and me. So first off I am 36. I have a husband and he is 38. He is a dentist. We have 2 kids. Rachael and Nikki. They are 11 and 9. They are both experienced with the horses. I have my very own farm, we have 32 boarders and than we own 33 of the horses. We have lots of staff to help us too. The boarders let us use there horses for lessons so basically there all like mine (: I would hate to see if someone stole one. That would tear me apart. Really it's not necessary to steal a horse! We have 65 stalls. 2 barns and we have a pony barn with 15 stalls in it and than the main has 50 stalls in it. So we have just enough stalls for all of the horses and ponies. Also my husband luckily helps me with the horses (: well I gotta go do a lesson! Tell me about you and your horse life!

Oh, Okaaay.
I'll start.
First off, what a lucky bunny you are! I would love to own a place much like you described some day <3
Just out of curiosity is that your main income? I mean for you personally, I know your DH is a dentist. Just curious.
Me, I'm 31 and I do lots of stuff to stay busy, if that makes any sense. I waitress/bartend in the winter, because they are slow months for the photography I normally do. My husband's 37 and we have a 14 y/o daughter. Wheee.

I currently technically only own one horse, a 9 y/o TB gelding, Butch. He's the second great love of my life, behind my daughter ahead of my husband, which he is totally cool with.

We started off leasing a small Arab gelding named Jojo, and we still board where he is at & he is still considered mine, as my daughter doesn't like to ride Butch, he is a bit too much horse for her. The barn owner owns Jojo and has given us free reign with him and has sworn that if he ever wanted to sell, he would come to me first.

So, I 'claim' two horses, in my selfish way.
I have just returned to riding after a severe head injury, non horse related, kept me away for a number of years. So, as much as I am teaching Butch and/or Jojo they are teaching me as well. With the patients of a couple of four legged saints!

I guess that's about it, for now. I could rant all day... but, I'll spare you.

Welcome To HF, By the way!

Amy,
Your situation sounds very attractive. I wish I was your best friend living right next door!!!

I am 53, married with two big sons. I got into riding at the age of 41, leasing. I still lease, 'cause can't afford to own. My oldest son has mild autism, so has been the primary financial target for any extra money.

I have some traiining in dressage but now ride western and do mostly trails and study the so-called Natural Horsemanship from time to time. My horse is a great all aorund Appy named Mac (who upstaged me in a couple of recently posted training tips videos that I posted here). I ride two or three times a week on the 460 acre equestrian state park right across the street from Mac's home. He lives outdoors 24/7 with a run in for rain/snow. He is very hardy and scruffy and a real rascal.

Well first off I agree you are very lucky :]
I am 16 and currently own 1 horse who I was just given in exchange for doing stalls and helping break in 2 of the 'babies' where I board. Altogether by this summer I will be working up to 7 horses teddy(5yr old about 17hh paint gelding one of the babies) mustang sally as I call her(about 4 yr old 14hh paint mustang filly the other baby) willy bay paint gelding ,blue eyes black and white paint mare, hottie paint mare, carly sorrel paint mare (another baby but broke just bratty) there are 11 horses there and we will be breeding teddys mom this year I believe. My mare I am currently changing her name as I don't like the one she has but she's a rescue case about 11yrs old sorrel and around 15 hds. She has a bit of trust issues but coming a long way she will be my all around mare trail barrels high school rodeo and such
