Theodore 'O Connor died... how sad :(

A very famous pony passed away, Theodore 'O Connor...

Eventing pony Theodore O'Connor was euthanized Wednesday after an accident at the barn of equestrians Karen and David O'Connor.

The O'Connors said in a statement that the 13-year-old pony bolted and slipped running back to the barn, severely cutting his hind leg and severing tendons and ligaments. The injuries were considered "catastrophic."

The gelding, selected to the U.S. Equestrian Federation's short list for eventing in Beijing, was the reigning team and individual gold medalist from the 2007 Pan American Games and had top six finishes at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event in 2007 and 2008.

Rest in peace, brave little pony...... may you gallop forever thru the stars!

Wow, I'm almost speechless. I was a big fan of his. And he was so young! I wonder what caused him to bolt?
