Trailering cost

I live in NY, very close to NYC. Horses here are still pretty expensive.

If I buy a horse from closer to me, it is more money. If I buy from another state, it will most likely be cheaper. What if I find my dream horse that is 300 miles away.

How much money, approx, is trailering? Will I break even on costs at that point?

Here in NC, folks are charging about $1/mile to trailer horses.
