Traveling

Is there anything I should know about traveling with a horse? We're moving from NC to VA and its about a 5 hour trip. This is our first time transporting a horse anywhere so we don't know what we need to do and not do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Offer water at gas stops (but just a sip). Lots of people say you should take them off and walk them but that terrifies me, because of traffic and what not. I'd probably do standing wraps or shipping boots for that distance... good luck!
