Talking Triple Crown Tracker 2011!!

Only 12 days left until the 137th Kentucky Derby!
So excited
This is how the field is looking so far;
1. Dialed In; 4-1 by Mineshaft
2. Uncle Mo; 6-1 by Indian Charlie
3. Nehro; 8-1 by Mineshaft
4. Archarcharch; 10-1 by Arch
5. Toby's Corner; 10-1 by Bellamy Road
6. Midnight Interlude; 12-1 by War Chant
7. Mucho Macho Man; 15-1 by Macho Uno
8. Master of Hounds; 20-1 by Kingmambo
9. Pants on Fire; 20-1 by Jump Start
10. Soldat; 20-1 by War Front
11. Animal Kingdom; 25-1 by Leroidesanimaux
12. Brilliant Speed; 25-1 by Dynaformer
13. Comma to the Top; 30-1 by Bwana Charlie
14. Shackleford; 30-1 by Forestry
15. Santiva; 40-1 by Giant's Causeway
16. Stay Thirsty; 40-1 by Bernardini
17. Twinspired; 40-1 by Harlan's Holiday
18. Decisive Moment; 60-1 by With Distinction
19. Twice the Appeal; 60-1 by Successful Appeal
20. Watch Me Go; 60-1 by West Acre

Still a little early for me to decide my favorite, though I am partial to Dialed In, Much Macho Man and Nehro. I also like Animal Kingdom, but that's mostly because I love his sire Brilliant Speed is also nice & a son of Dynaformer (Barbaro's sire for all those who might not know), though like alot of Dynaformer's foals, he seems to do better on the turf.

Anyone have a favorite? What's you predictions? First, 2nd & third?

On name alone, I gotta go with Pants on Fire. I don't know why, but that name cracks me up. Bloodlines are pretty fantastic too.

You just have to see your distance...you don't have to like it.

Here's some info on the top three at the moment.
Dialed In is sired by Mineshaft, out of Miss Doolittle by Storm Cat
So far he has raced 4 times, winning 3 & placing 2nd once. His most recent win was in the Florida Derby. I'm a personal fan of closers & I love the way he won over Shackleford, though with a greater distance I believe he could have made it a bigger win.

Uncle Mo is sired by Indian Charlie, out of Playa Maya by Arch
He has raced 5 times, winning 4 & coming in 3rd during his most recent start in the Wood Memorial. I admit I don't have too much hope for him after watching that loss, but he could bounce back. He was a huge favorite.

Here's his win in the Timely Writers Stakes
And his loss in the Wood

Nehro is sired by Mineshaft, out of The Administrator by Afleet
I don't really like his race record much. He's run 5 times, winning once, placing 2nd twice, 10th and 4th.

Here's a video of his maiden win
And his most recent start in the Arkansas Derby, where he came in 2nd to Archarcharch

I haven't been keeping up with the horse racing world since I came to college but I am for sure going to watch the 3 triple crown races, I will probably root for which ever horse is number 7 because that is my lucky number.

You are never better than anyone. Every rider has skills they need to improve. The only one you must compare yourself with, is you.

It's sad that The Factor is out. He looked unstoppable on the track. I like Dialed in and Animal Kingdom right now but I have a few races to analyze before I make my final picks.

My husband and I go to the Derby every year. I am hoping for a sunny day since last year was the wettest derby in history. It was my first record breaking derby :)

Help me horse forum! You're my only hope!

Yes, The Factor was nice. I also liked To Honor and Serve, but he too is off the trail.

I can't wait!! Some of those name crack me up such as Pants on Fire. Why do they name racehorses such weird names?

I will go with Animal Kingdom, because it reminds me of my previous dog Simba(hence the Lion King theme)

Anyone think this is the year we will see a Triple Crown winner?
