Ugh.. Accident last Sat

Dana, who is one of my best friends @ riding, school & home, was riding Roger on Saturday so I could ride Diesel.. well we were cantering figure eights and D and I turned a little late... Roger turned really fast to fallow us and Dana fell.
She didn't get up for a short while.. We all stopped and waited. Caroline was riding her horse with us and had left the gait open. At first Rog didn't notice and just stood in the ring, bored while my instructor was busy with Dana.. but then he saw and just walked right out. I was going to offer to hold D and someone else's horse while they caught Roger, but before I could another girl panicked and dismounted.. running after Roger. Her pony just ran right out as soon as she had let go. So then she had to get him, too.
After he was caught we had someone hold him (just a friend who came out to see D with me) and the girl caught Roger.. when she got back Caroline had helped Dana up and got her back on.
So the lesson continues but Roger and Dana don't do anything but walk around..she keeps saying she feels like "gravity is pushing on her arm". Soo her X-rays have come back and she broke her shoulder. 0.o
I love her and feel so badly! also I'm worried.. her mom was watching and was already convinced my pony was bad. I rode him for the first time since the accident yesterday, he was great... He is getting such a bad rep though this is not the first bad experience with him. :(
Well send Dana good wishes!! I hope she makes a full recovery!!! (Sorry for how long this is!)

Even experienced riders have falls from experienced horses.

Good luck and quick healing to everyone.

I love how people see somebody FALL off a horse and it turns into "that horse THREW her/me." Seriously I've been thrown once, but I've fallen off way more than that.

Anyways, sorry for my mini-rant. I hope Dana gets better soon! And good luck with changing your boys image!

Didn't get to ride him today, but seriously doubting a "Killer horse" (as my mom would call him) would be ridden by a beginner. (as he was today while I rode D ;) )

I think the poor animal was probably lacking rider guidance and went with his natural horsey instinct to follow the herd and go after his buddy. People sometimes forget that horses are horses.

Really unfortunate she fractured her shoulder tho. Hopefully no long term problems come out of that. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Not sure how she broke it. She doesn't need an operation as far as I know.
He really is a great pony. I don't blame him, neither does she.. but my mom is now convinced he is horrible and doesn't want me to ride him anymore.. :(
