    ugh today was bad....

OK, so today was the day I got Dozer back from my cousin's house :) I was so excited I wanted him back yesterday but my dad was being lazy and didn't 'feel like it'... Any who, When I went to get him I noticed he was kinda pushy, I just ignored it and took him to the trailer. He has always been great at loading in the trailer but today was different. I got him in and he backed out in a second, before even getting close enough to hook him. The second time I loaded him I got him to where he could be hooked, waited for about five seconds to give my Dad time to get the back up, then hooked him. Well, as soon as that got hooked he flew backwards out of the trailer, broke the trailer tie, and then started eating as if nothing happened. I am so relived that when he broke the tie, he broke the metal part, he could have broken it and had it fly back and hit his eye or something dangerous like that. My hand is a little sore because when he started pulling I grabbed for the tie and it flew back and rubbed my hand the wrong way. The third time I got him in and he didn't seem shaken up and he didn't react when I tied him with another trailer tie. He was restless in the trailer for the ride home(ten min) but other than that he was good. A little more excited than he was before I sent him there but I can fix that. I will be sure to have a lesson with trailering just to be safe.

Cookies to all who read this whole thing!

    Thanks,
    Megan

Hey, coulda been worse. Be glad your baby didn't get hurt, or that you or your father didn't get hurt, either. Glad you got him back. :]

Yea I know, my aunt told me just a few weeks ago to not use the quick release kind(I was not when this incident happened) because her horse Buddy had spooked and pulled. The thing released and flew back and hit him in the eye. He was lucky and wasn't majorly injured. So glad no one was hurt.

Today I found Dozer with an owie, not from the trailer tie. He was itching his lip and scratched a little too hard. There is a little flap of skin hanging and it looks gross but he isnt in pain so its good.
