k well I havent been on really, all summer... Sorry. I thouhgt I would give everyone an update.

where to start....

Lilly turned 2 in June. I had a party.

we have been free leasing a trailer (the owner is parking it at our house, and we have free use of it) so I have taken both Lilly and Caesar (when I can get him in the trailer) to my Friends (shall we call her Eliy... ) house, and we trail ride around her area.. she lives right by a river...

Lilly likes the river, she thought she was supposed to drink it all, and seeweed(or river grass) is a very yummy treat

well I went to a Clint Anderson clinic and loved his work... so I bought a "Handy stick" and then went to the store and bought one of his training books.

I have been working though that with Lilly and Caesar. I am at pivoting.. (off the front) Lilly is doing ok... Caesar it horrid at it..
I ride Lilly now (sitting on her bareback) I havent gotten around to buying a saddle or girth yet...

what else...

oh well once their hooves were really bad and my farrier never showed (or called) so I got out my own tools (i got a full set of tools for christmas a few years back ) and did them, myself... for my first time Ithink I did a pretty good job.. (now dont get all mad at me.... their feet are fine.)

Today.. (this is what finally spurred me into posting) Eliy and I went to a local bike/ hiking trail (it runs along the C and O cannal in williamsport maryland) we brought Lilly, and Melody (her horse) because they were the easiest to get in the trailer.. lol

Melody is a 7yr old Halflinger and Elliy rode her while I walked Lilly.

then I got tired of walking so I jumped on her back and Eliy ponied Lilly. (I had brought another lead so if something happened I still had control.)

then after a while she was doing so well i decided I could control her myself... so I rode that way.. Yay she did AWESOME.. I trotted on her.. but not cantered...

at first she was Iffy about the bikes.. but after about two miles she was used to them.. so by the time we got back to the car we must have gone four miles.. or Almost four... it was a lot of fun...

here are some more pics.. (random) also Caesar looks about the same so nothing really to report there....

but incase some of you havent ever seen Caesar

I have to admit, I am gloating just a tad.. I remember about a yr and a half ago when I said I was thinking about gettting Lilly, what a negative response I got. (on another forum)
how I would ruin her because I did not have enough experience, or worse someone would get hurt... well here I am riding her (with only a halter) on a trail ride... I think maybe some assumptions were wrong...
I am glad I went with my gut...
