Ok just giving a little update about me trying to lease a horse which has been converted into taking lessons. Finally after the rain finally subsided I was able to go out and meet the instructor and her facilities. She seems really nice and the horses well behaved.
I really like her principals on training and the fact that she goes beyond the instruction of riding. I know putting on polo wraps might not be a big deal to some but I've always wanted to learn how to do it. She was the one that recommended taking real lessons first before "turning me loose" on a lease.
Its a smaller place which is fine by me and there are a lot of horses. However it is definitely weather orientated, if you know what I mean.
Its father out from what I was looking for but seems worth it.
The only issue I am running into is my hectic schedule. This wouldn't be so bad except she only teaches I believe four days week. I pretty much have weekends free, but the weekday my schedule is uncertain due to my unreliable part time job. As you might have guessed she's pretty much booked on Saturdays. I've tried to contact her to let her know my schedule but haven't heard anything back yet.
I spent the last year or so leasing a horse with few accomplishments and shattered confidence. I want to learn to ride, progress, and stop watching others past me by.
