Valentine's Day

I thought this could be a fun thread... Since Valentine's has come and gone... what did you guys receive as gifts, what did you give?

I got a new set of cotton reins with a nice leather popper. They are similar to mecate reins. Instead of the lead rope/popper connected to the bridle it is connected at the upper center of the reins. Thinking about modifying them. But I love the feel of them and they were exactly what I wanted :) can't wait to try them out :)

And the other thing I got was a new headstall and kelly smooth snaffle. We had to order it online since they didnt have anything in stock. I can't wait for it to come! Im so impatient over silly things LoL The picture is from the website.

So what did you guys get/give? Chocolates and roses or tack: which would you prefer?

I got a dozen roses and two boxes of chocolates from my boyfriend. The roses were special because he picked out the colors of the roses in the arrangement and included my favorite color in a larger quantity than the rest (my favorite roses are white with pink edging).

Truth be told, though, I would have rather gotten tack. Lol. Or that double saddle stand at CAL Ranch I've had my eye on...

My bf sent me chocolate covered strawberries (to die for!) balloons and a cute teddy bear to my work. All the girls there were swooning and kept going in to look at it all.

What makes it better, he works there too, so when I took all the stuff to the breakroom, all my patients were making comments about it.

Its always the thought that counts :) I don't think my hubby would know my favorite color of rose but then again he knows I'm just not a flowers type girl. I also sent him the first pic I posted LoL so I think he got the hint and I happen to know the lady who helped him and she knows I had been eyeballing the reins so she really helped point him in the right directions Lol I would have been happy with anything but I am excited he actually got something I really wanted. First year in 7 he got it right LoL usually he forgets or sticks with the typical dozen roses :) (knowing I don't like flowers lol) gotta love those men ;)

That's sweet too... the strawberries sound amazing! Funny how girls can't help but swoon over sweet gestures :) bet it was nice to be the envy of the office ;) LoL

Roses are my favorite flowers. Problem is that my ex-husband got me a dozen yellow roses for literally every non-Christmas holiday (birthday, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, etc) because he didn't want to take the time to think about what to get me. However, the boyfriend doesn't have much money (he works for his mom running her vending machine business and she doesn't pay him), so I completely understand that he did the best he could.

I gave: A big honkin' amount of money to the County Trustee for real estate taxes

I received: 45 bales of hay, a nice card and chocolate from Mr. WTW

As you can see, gift giving and receiving really changes priorites with age.

That truck load of hay would be worth a nice pair of diamond stud earrings but, I need the hay a lot more than I need earrings. Especially since I am now retired and don't come off this hill unless I have to-----show me the barn stuff
