Video Camera Recomendations

Anyone know of a cheap video camera that can take a little abuse, say when a horse knocks it off a jump standard shortly after his rider set it up to get a video of their ride? I had a Flip, but besides it being a wicked battery hog, it wasn't very hardy.

Sony HandyCam. My dad's was around $500 and is awesome, but I have a cheaper version of it that was around $200, and it still has great quality.

How's the battery life?

Battery life is great. I use it to video workouts with Excel, so sometimes I use it for an hour, put it away, and use it for an hour the next day. I've used it all day at shows without it running out.

Great! Thanks. I like that it has a longer lens. The Flip doesn't zoom in practically at all, so everything is very far away even if you're close. Just wish Black Friday was coming up sooner!
