Want to remind everyone. Stolen/missing horses.

Just wanted to remind everyone, to always take up-to-date pictures of your horses. Take full profile shots (each side, front, back and head) and close-up shots of markings.)

WHENEVER you look at a horse for sale, always check netposse first, to make sure the horse is not listed as missing or stolen. Remember, if you purchase a stolen horse, it could be taken from you. You could end up in a nasty court case. You could be accused of possessing stolen good. Most of the horses listed on netposse, have several pictures of the horses, missing or considered stolen.

If you discover a horse for sale or to even give away, that appears very like a horse pictured on netposse, notify them immediately. It is unfortunate, but horse stealing is still alive and well. In this difficult economy in the US and indeed, all over the world, there are those who will steal anything, for resale. If you know anyone who has lost a horse or thinks it might have been stolen, make absolutely sure, you direct them to netposse, to give pics and full details on the horse which is missing.

Not all horse will have been stolen of course. Some might just have jumped or escaped their fencing. Regardless, make sure all missing horses are listed on netposse's website. SO many have been returned to their proper owners, because of that website.
