So I thought I should post thi for all the people who ride out doors and in the dirt. I know the rain is good for crops and all but i havent been able to ride all week!!! WEll just venting. Share your harsh weather stoies here!
I sympathize with you. I ride outdoors, I rode until mid January, then came the -40 weather, then the ice, then mountains of snow. Last week enough of the ice cleared and I was back in the saddle. Last two day, stinkin' monsoons. Phooey Poo:evil:
!
I need rain here! The horses have nothing to eat. Plus there is a no burn ban and with us supposed to have a non fire this coming weekend. That kinda ****s with it. Posted via Mobile Device
Same for us here in NM. But I could do without these horrible wind storms. We have an unplanted field in front of our house and it has turned into a sandy mess. When the wind picks up the dirt its miserable. Posted via Mobile Device
The weather is putting the brakes on my riding too. Although the winter was reasonably mild, we have had a continual cycle of snow, thaw, freeze that has made the ground too slippery for outdoor riding. We've been hit with a "spring" snowstorm the last three Fridays. The snow melts and it dries by the following Thursday evening, only to continue with more snow again on Friday. We've even had "thunder snow" complete with lightening and power outages.
This Friday dished up a serving of rain (just to make things slippery), topped with a dessert of snow that started yesterday morning and hasn't stopped since. Temps are not predicted to get much above freezing during the day for at least another week and we have more rain / snow, "snain" in the forecast. I haven't blanketed much all winter, but with the rain / snow / cold cycle, I am back to the blankets on, blankets off game.
The pussy willows are out, the trees want to release their leaves and the Canada geese are here trying to lay their eggs but mother nature just won't cooperate.
Ugh, -26c?!!! We are not that cold in Northern Alberta. It did warm up a little more than expected this afternoon but we shall see what surprises the week brings. It seems the seasons are shifted by about a month compared to what the weather used to be like. We still get 6-7 months of winter and always have but it seems to start later and end later.
-26C?????? Do tell where you're from, so I can put it on my list of places not to move to! Even though rain was predicted for today, it was wrong, yay! Beautiful day outside, got a ride in before work. No more complaints...for now.
Northern Manitoba... We had a mild winter but a normal spring, which we haven't had in four years, and everyone is complaining... Even me lol Posted via Mobile Device
wow, well thats a little to cold for me...0 C is to cold for me, come to think of it.
Its been super windy..I mean, whoa doggy windy! No outside activities for me :-(. If I can't go outside much less ride...I get a little difficult to live with. AND, since no one seems in favor of my horses coming on in, I am stuck inside w/o a horse!:-( I WISH I had a huge indoor arena with heating/cooling, lights, a popcorn maker, bedroom, kitchenette...wouldn't that be too cool? Until then, I have the great outdoors and they are currenlty too windy for man or beast.
