    Well, that was fast!

I put up three ads for horses on August 17th...one sold this morning and I just sold another not ten minuets ago! Usually it's over a month to sell a horse, I post them in the evening and a day later, POOF! Two down one to go.

The first mare that sold belongs to a friend of mine. Being sold as an unbroke broodmare, but registered and very fancy looking (golden palomino, just washed out and in pasture condition). They texted me this morning saying that a gentlemen came out and bought her. I put 'SOLD' on the ads I had posted and STILL got e-mails on her. I just gave them the sellers phone number. She has I think...two Arabian mares for sale as well? I can't remember to be honest with you

Baby Girl, my grade buckskin QH mare just sold now. The lady called me last night for more info, she's inquiring for another woman who wants a Buckskin for her granddaughter. I sent more pictures and they loved her, so she's getting picked up in roughly two weeks from now. I figure even if they back out of the sale, I can always relist her. I don't NEED to sell, but I'm wanting to so I can focus on Divo and possibly another Dressage prospect. I'll be still riding Baby for the next two weeks so she doesn't get any herd-sour ideas in her head. She was a little stubborn (read, went slower than ever) last I rode her. She of course perked up when turned back in the direction of the herd, so I'm going to work her in the herd-area next time.

I have three people interested in my Foxtrotter, Red Man. One wants to come out next week, one either Saturday or Sunday, and another I think said something about this weekend as well. I honestly thought he'd be the hardest to get responses on, since he's not broke. But nooo...he gets three different people, two sounding very interested, and Baby the BROKE horse gets only one. At least she's going off to be spoiled so rotten she'll be pooping pure carrot in a week

Good horses at good prices are still moving relativly fast. People are looking to pounce on the market with it being in the crapper. I actually put Nico up for 1200/obo and I flooded my emailed with responses. After an exhausting search...it came down to two wonderful people who both really wanted him. In the end, I told them that they needed to work something out. They both made cash offers on him and I actually got more than my asking price! I am in shock! LOL

Oh wow XD My dads going on and on about the people wanting to buy Baby, how the horse isn't sold until the cash is on the table, etc. I'm just going, "Dude. I don't NEED to sell her. I don't HAVE to sell her. So if she keeps my pasture mowed for another two weeks and I have to relist her, who cares?!"

The only reason Red and Baby are up for sale is so I can focus on learning English and working with Divo. Possibly another prospect that's not born yet. I'm still kinda on the fence about that one. It's a half Friesian like Divo, buuut...I'd be getting it for an awesome price. I could then raise it, play with it, and train it, and THEN re-sell it when it's older and start looking for my dream Friesian mare. I most certainly won't be profiting HUGEWADSOFCASH, but it'd certainly make for a good down payment on a well bred horse. I must consider further >_<

Have you advertised on a couple different sites? I put mine up on DreamHorse, Equine, err...Cowboy Way...Craigslist...and I think one or two others. It really broadens the market and helps you reach people who otherwise wouldn't know your selling the horse

Just wait until he starts pulling a cart! He's slotted for low level Dressage (he's to darned short for the higher levels!) and Driving. I want to ride him so badly, every day I go out and give him butt scratches and just kinda hang all over him. He loves it, the lil' ham.

Another tip other than advertising wherever you can (feed stores, tack shops etc) is to make sure your ad is complete. TONS of pictures. Every possible angle showing off conformation. What helped me the most was making a few short videos and posting them on youtube. Just a walk trot canter and one of him loping the barrel pattern. Youtube is a great selling tool. Its free. You can't really go wrong! Equinenow.com and horseclicks.com offer free advertising and they both come up pretty quickly in a google search.

I think the equine now ad lets you have like 15 pictures...thats nuts! I filled every spot though. When you give them that much information, it really cuts down on the 'tire kickers' and the oh your horsey is so pretty can I just come and pet him...write your ads well...use spell check and grammar check. Sounds silly but it is important. Be sure to describe your horse the best you can. If they are lazy...try saying they are laid back.

I hate selling horses but I do love horse shopping. I would never waste peoples time the way I had my time wasted.

O ya, I have them on dreamhorse, craigslist, equinenow, horseclicks and still nothing. Selling horses is one of the most frustrating things. GAH!
