What about a mammoth donkey?

Having trouble finding a burro to keep our lonely horse company. A friend told me she knows of a mammoth donkey who needs a home. Would he be a good choice? What is a *mammoth* donkey???? Assuming he's a good shape, what would a fair purchase price be?

Mammoth donkeys are simply larger (horse sized) than what people typically think of when you say donkey. As far as I know, they are just a typical donkey behavioral wise.

A mammoth donkey is to a regular donkey what a draft horse is to a stock horse...basically the same, but bigger.

If the donk is in good health, then it would make a wonderful companion animal. They can be trained to be ridden and driven as well, just like a mule.

As for purchase price, that depends solely on the market in your area. I'd browse craigslist to see if there are any other donks listed for sale and what they're listed as and go from there.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/
