What Are Carrots?

I recently signed up for this forum, and I am confused about the carrot thing, what are they for? And how do you get them? What is the carrot locator?

(The forum's carrots)

I know it is a dumb question, but I really want to know

Thanx

I am not sure I am qualified to help, as I only have two. But the two I have, a little thing popped up on my screen that said to hurry and catch the carrot before another member did, so I clicked on it, and wallaa, I have two carrots now..

ETA: I just got robbed a carrot, so now I am back down to one ;(
