Race horses have a termendous amount of stress on each leg while they are racing. One of the little kids in my 4h group did a report on it and said that there is atleast 1500 pounds on each leg at a time. For a horse that young, that's too much. Some horses have stronger joints then others.

If you where raced with weak joints, im sure yours would break too

Hate horse racing. I worked breeding thoroughbreds in MA for about a year after college. Every broodmare had something wrong with her from racing. Owners visited infrequently and couldn't even put a halter on. Mares were usually drugged so they'd accept a mount. The colts and fillies are raced way too young, at too fast a pace, on improper surfaces...well, enough about that....but you're right, tim, PETA is having a fit, and for good reason.

Id rather have another animal protection group freak then PETA. Matter of fact id rather have nothing be done about this, then PETA do something about it. PETA is jumping on anything they can make money off of.

I just watched the video...OMG that is sooo aweful! Poor Belles.
I hate horse racing...things some humans do for entertainment. I know some of the horse's out there do love to run, but I think more than half are being pushed into racing....EB had her WHOLE life infront of her and from some stupid accident that could have been prevented MANY different ways, she had to be put down
