What color should my horse be?

Silly question guys. I play a mini's game called Malifaux. Part of my main character's schtick is he starts the battle mounted. The horse gives him special abilities and what not, and can also take damage to help keep my guy alive. I have just worked up to painting him and I am not sure which direction I should go. Buckskin? Paint? Apply? Plain old chestnut? Palomino? I was hoping to get some ideas, and maybe some pictures to go off of. Yes, I could just go to google, but this is more fun!

Now, who has a pretty horse?!

The horse I am painting is attached. Yes, I know Lucas is missing an arm and reins. He will get those later. Lol!

Look up my thread "Just some pics of Aires..." Loud black and white pinto gelding. I also have a really old thread called "Buenos Aires and other horses I've worked with" or something like that with a whole bunch of different (pretty) horses in it. I'd post pics, but I'm on my phone and it's a pain. Lol

I say paint it an appy.

An old cowboy once told me "You know why injuns rode appies into war? Because by the time they got there, they'd be mad enough to fight!"

Lol! Good point! I think I am going to go with a bay blanket app. I haven't put any white on him. I think I might go piebald too.

He is done! I am so proud of myself. It took about eight or nine hours of straight work. I nixed the blanket and just went for a bay. I had gotten too far to want to risk messing up a complicated marking.

Here he is! I am so happy with him. Not bad for a first try.

Thanks! I almost don't want to play with him for fear he will break or something will happen to the paint. I am really looking forward to painting my other guys now.
