What color tack looks good on Chestnuts and Sorrels? Just curious what color halters and stuff you guys have on your horses that look nice.

I put mine in bright orange. As bright neon as I could get. To top it off, he's the coppery/orangey sorrel color so he clashes so beautifully. It's completely obnoxious and I love it.
minstrel likes this.

On chestnuts I like purple or green. On my bay horse I like green or tan. His nylon tack is all taupe colored - looks good on a dark brown horse and hides dirt well.

I've seen them look great in dark green, navy or royal blue... dark purple is great too, basically not too bright/light that will take away from the pop of their colour. Red, orange, yellow and pink tend to look awful, imho, but white looks good - especially on a chestnut with white markings.

Green Broke
I think they look excellent in royal blue. Purple and green look nice too. I'm also partial to black, its easy to match ;) I can't stand matching colors that are slightly off.

My chestnut's colors are lime green and black. As bright a green as I can get. He also looks good in blues, purples, pinks, and orange.

For leather tack I like the "walnut" color Circle Y has, but a darker tan also looks nice on him.

White nylon doesn;t stay white for long, though I've seen it on chestnut Welsh cobs and it looks cracking. I've used white rope show halters more often, which look good too (:

Does anyone use prints? Would Giraffe or a purplish cheetah look better do you think? Its going to be a christmas present to myself :) and buy the matching pad later
