I was raised around horses. My Grandpa owned 5 acres smack in the middle of the small town I grew up in. It is kind of a cool place. He started out on the edge of town but over the years the town grew around him. We lived 2 houses down from Gpa's place. So we (my sister & I) would be up there ALL the time.
My parents were not into horses but my Aunt barrel raced and she spent an emormous amount of time with us. She was diagnosed with cancer and lived with it for about 10 years. She spent as much time with us as possible and raced every chance she had.
We always helped out with chores and she would have us ride a lot. We did the my little pony thing and bryer things too.
I kind of got away from horses for about 10-15 years busy growing up and starting a family. I tried from time to time to ride.
Now that my kids are busy growing up I want to give them what I had. I wouldn't want it any other way, there is something very powerfull, especially for young girls, about being in control of a horse, and feeling that freedom. ( I had really missed it too.)

I could go on and on about it. Love got me in and keeps me here.

Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don't be afraid or discouraged by the size of the task, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.

My parents had a timeshare in the GA mountains - and just happened to be there when this guy brought his palomino trick horse. I believe I was 14 months old...they have pictures of me sitting on the horse (of course the horse is still and they were holding me), holding the mane - ready to GO!

As they say, the rest is history
