What she I call my filly?

Hi all,
I just bought a horse like two days ago (finally, sold my last one years ago). Anyway the trouble is she doesn't have a name. Her owner sort of calls her Flash, but has just left her out for months so it doesn't really feel like her name. She's a 3 year old Anglo Arab, chestnut with a star and two back socks. I'll put a pic in, but one of them is old and one is not great.

I like Gloria as a name, but I am not sure how much it suits her. This is pic of her that's old (6 months plus) but its the only front one I have.



And this one I took a couple of days ago (she just rolled in mud).



So what names does anyone think? Something sort of easy and normal, but interesting.

For some reason, I immediately thought of the movie My Friend Flicka when I saw her. The old one, with Roddy McDowall.

Flicka or Glory.



I think that they both fit her. Flash doesn't fit her in my opinion. The second school horse I rode was named Flash... and that was a boy. So I think that a slightly more "girly" name is appropriate...

OOOH!!! Or Amber!! I like dat one... I might just steal it for myself. I plan to get a paint arab cross... and name her Amber Waves of Grain... dunno why... :P

She's very cute and needs a girlie name IMO.

This is a hard one. I'm not sure I like what I suggested...lol. Gloria seems so formal but perhaps it fits her. Is she laid back? What's her personality like?

Well she's quite excitable, but I guess the conditions weren't great when I saw her. She had just been caught from the paddock after 10 months and it was a thunder storm with lightening, and new people, so she was understandably jittery, but not too bad. I fell in love with her right away. And she has a lovely trot. She has like this look in her eye that you can't really catch in a photo, like she's smart and free sort of, but soft and almost pony like.

She trots around like a bit of a flirt too. I'm at the stage where I am still totally fawning over a horse, but I don't pick her up for another week, not enough time with study. Everyone keeps asking her name though.

With that info... my faves would be Amber or Tessa... both are short and easy to say... but neither are very "common" in the horse world nowadays... Flicka's are everywhere... :P
