What would you offer?

    To be honest I don't think any horse is a worthy business investment.

    If you have her for six months just the upkeep costs are going to be more than you'll make back, and then your time on top of that. It's not like you're picking her up dirt cheap either.

    If you want to buy her to train and ride for fun, then eventually sell on, then sure go ahead, she looks sweet and lovely. But if you're buying with the intention to turn a profit I don't think that is going to happen at those prices.

    You are right. I already know I'm not going to make thousands of dollars in profit, but I'm hoping I can at least break even in the end.


    The question remains: should I go for it? To you, if you were in my shoes, would she be worth the 800? How long should I sit back and wait? I'm hoping the owner will realize that no one in their right mind (*ahem*) will take her at that amount and drop the price, but I also don't want someone else to snatch her up under my nose while I'm sitting on my hands.

    Or, would you pass her by entirely. Is she just not worth the money that is being asked?

    If you've got your heart set on getting this horse then get her, a few hundred dollars isn't much in the long run, at least not in the horse world.

    But if you just like her because you think she'll turn a profit, I'd wait for something cheaper to come along, if that is what the prices are like in your area.

    Besides, as mentioned by other posters, such a small horse will be harder to sell. It would be mainly for a child market I'd imagine, and by the time you sell her she'll still be pretty young for a child rider, and not quite a bargain.
