Whats the funniest thing your horse has done?

I know my horse can be a real hoot, he loves goofing off.

- If you've seen Mr. Ed the tv show from the 60's, you'll get the picture.
My horse didn't like my old BO at all, and one day this girl kept talking and talking as she stood by the pasture back to the horses. This went on for 10 minutes and my horse started mocking her and pretending to talk by moving his lips. Of course I burst out laughing and she got mad for not knowing what was so funny. I've never seen my horse do that since.

- I got new skid boots to try on my horse, and I know he never had them on in his life. My new BO told me to go throw him in the arena to walk/run and get use to them. Oh was his walk hilarious, it was like those dogs with boots on their feet. He would raise his hoof so high look like a dog trying to pee and tried walking with one leg in the air. then he had to put it down to move the other leg. Same thing. He got use to them finally.

I have way too many to write down, but these are most recent.

To many really good ones with my gelding i have now but the one that sticks out in my head is that he is more like a dog then a horse! When he was a weanling and i got him i thought it would be really cute to teach him things and one of the things i thought was cute (i was only 13) was to teach him how to drink from a pop can/bottle. Well now you cant leave anything around him because he will take it a drink it. He is like a dog in the way that he wants to eat anything your eating, a sandwich, french fires he wants it, then if he doesn't like it he sticks his lip up high and squeals :) There is a picture of it in my album on my profile page

Lillie sticks her tongue out when she gets a drink of water. It's like she is holding the water in her mouth. I thought maybe all horses did it..but Lyric and Comanche and the thoroughbreds don't do it. So it's seems to be a Lillie thing. I absolutely adore watching her drink water. It's the cutest thing ever!

Paul sniffs my backside when i clean his hooves. He also tries to lean on me with all his weight when I am doing that. I have to keep pushing back and saying "i am not your support post!"

he also likes to play chase with me in the arena before i ride him. i'll chase him around and then he'll chase me.

We ran out of grain for a few days for our yearlings one week. They thought that was the worst torture you could ever inflict on a little horse. Dad went up to their barn to fix something while they were out, and the gray colt picked up a grain bag and took it to my dad. Dad waved him away and didn't think anything of it until the filly walked over, picked up the grain bag and took it to him. The hint was very clear.

My gelding Sonny likes to play in his water bucket and gaurd his filth. Yes, gaurd it. When we're at a fair and i'm cleaning out his stall he'll look back, see where i'm going to clean and then step that way so i can't.

Also Nik and Sonny don't really care for plastic bags, cause you know they eat horses and what not, and they tend to run away from them. Well it was really windy one day this past fall and my dad said that they were running around and the wind blew this plastic bag onto Nik's butt (he has a fairly big booty cause he's a shorter haffie) and he was running around with this plastic bag stuck to his butt and then when the wind died off enough for it to fall off, he stoped and just strutted away like, eh that didn't bother me a bit.
They'll also do that when the neighbor kids go sledding in the snow (there is a little hill above their pasture) and they'll walk up their all tough and then one will slide down and they'll take off down and then hide behind each other while looking up at the kids. Then they'll do it all over again lol! : P

I evented a little QH gelding who was so smart it was scarey (much smarter than his owner). He could jump ANYTHING!

I hunted and his owner tried to ride him at the hunt. When he would drink at the pond, he would drop and roll every time. Being the trainer, I was convinced I could keep him from doing that. I know the signs of rolling, right?

I hunted him and we got to the pond. I was waiting for the telltail signs, and he knew it. Without so much as a flick of the ears.....he was down and over. I laughed so hard. He got me!

Then came the formal opening hunt. I was riding Scottie. We get to the pond (mind you, I am in formal wear). I decide to take bets from the field. If he rolls, you give my 5.00. If he doesn't I give you 10.00. Remember, he has NEVER failed to roll! I get plenty of takers, as they want to be amused.

We walk in and I wait.....and wait.....and wait. I am convinced that he KNOWS I want him to roll this time. He just stands there for the first time EVER!! Everyone is laughing (and getting ready to collect a lot of money!

Disgusted, I turn him to walk out of the pond. He squeals, tosses his head and drops and rolls. THANK GOODNESS! I was gonna be broke.

Good boy, Scottie!!

This is the notorious little guy;

BTW, don't mind the longer right stirrup...I was riding with a broken leg and I couldn't flex my ankle much so it needed to be longer. Not the most fun I have had at a show....
