Question Whats your opinion on ........

rodeos? Good or bad? I personally love them. I'm mainly talking about bronc riding. Alot of people think they are cruel. IMO they aren't. I have been to some low rodeos never seen a bronc being treated badly. I'm not saying it doesnt happem, cause I know it does. But really at all depends on the stock crontracter that owns the horses. They choose how the horses get treated behind the chute. I have seen a man walk up to his bronc just after it was bucked, it was still in the arena, and he haltered him up and led him to a trailer. What I don't get is why people get all mad about rodeos in general and not even think about the people who actually own the horses. Any other veiws?

I love rodeos! I watch the PBR when I get the chance. I agree with your opinion.

yay for rodeos!!! Lol. I like it better than any other equestrian sport. It's more real to me. Especially ranch rodeos.

I like bull riding, I would like to own bucking bulls one day. My bf rides, or used to. Can't do it much anymore. I LOVE to watch the bull fighters, especially the ones at smaller rodeos when they are really being used alot. I know a guy that broke his neck, back and ankle (something like that) and is still fighting. They are very brave and athletic.

So I have a question about bronc riding. Is it true that the riders are required to spur the horse?

I love rodeo. The only thing I think is at all cruel is calf roping. I'm not a huge fan of it being done at rodeo speeds

I love rodeos!! My favorite event has to be team claf roping. It's so exciting!!!!

Spurring is a leg action more than anything. It's to get more points on your ride. The horses don't actually get spurred in the side, not hard pressure (like you would to make a horse move) but the rider pulls their legs up really high.

You see how high his legs are? That is the action called spurring.
