When to lease a horse

I will be leasing a horse soon but I need to know WHEN to lease if I will be competing in the fair in the summer of 2013. How much prep time will I need before the summer?

I would start as soon as possible! There is no disadvantage to having extra time to build a connection with your horse :)

I agree!! I waited three years before my first show! (with my horse at least)

Green Broke
Give yourself as much time as you can. There is no guarantee that you're lease horse will end up being suitable for it, and it can take months to get ready.
