Question Where are they all hiding!?

*Please move if this is not an appropriate area of the forum* :)
Hi guys, so I was wondering, where are all the horsey guys!?

I know that there are quite a few people who have managed to bag a horsey guy, and some have even converted their partners from no interest at all to all around cowboy (well, kinda! That may be a slight exaggeration)

I'm having great difficulty indeed finding a guy who has any remote interest in horses, at all! I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but if I'm going to share my life with someone, they sure as hell need to accept (and preferably, like) my horses.

I'm not desperately looking for a man, I just think it'd be nice to have one around (I'm going to get a lot of correction there I'm sure! :p )

Any ideas where they could be? And any funny stories about how people found their horsey man or converted their originally non-horsey guy are much appreciated!

The ones I know, and they are many, are 30 to 80 miles from any town of any size and don't go there often. Or, they are working on tracks, at polo farms and clubs, or the training centers of other disciplines.

They work long hours and many days of the week. Their women/girl friends do the same.

If you just want to meet someone who sits on a horse, go watch team ropings or calf ropings.

Dont worry, your not alone!

I keep hoping Luke Bryan will show up at my doorstep but it hasnt happened yet.

I gotta hold onto hope though. Even if I have to settle for 2nd best to Luke.

They are few & far between and will only show up when you are not looking

I met my country boy in high school. I seemed to have lucked into him. He grew up on a farm taking care of the crops, cutting down trees for fire wood and taking care of the animals. He used to ride a bit before we got together. Now that we are buying property to start my own facility(that he is going to build for me including heated barn) he wants to get back into riding.

They can be hard to find though. Is there horse forums for your area? Check those out, hang out at shows, strike up conversation with your farrier(if he's older he may have a son) go to events in your area(like Mane Event or whatever it would be in your area). Strike up conversations in the tack or feed stores. If you search you shall find. I can't promise they will be straight though lol

All very good replies guys, and NBEventer, that's sweet that you found a good guy (and best of luck with your facility too!). Very good ideas guys, I'll have to start searching high and low for one I think!

My husband converted after we started going out. He used to have a dirt bike so made the transition to horse riding fairly easy and he's great about helping out with chores and haying. The thing I want to say, though, is that I found this to be true of most anything -- when you stop looking is when you will stumble upon something (as Litrella said).

Okay, so I won't be searching high and low hehe! Hmm I'll be looking around horsey events, but pretending to myself that I'm not looking for a guy hehe

Yep, stop looking. When I said "search" I meant just get out and start going to some events and just getting more involved. That's how you will find someone
