A year ago someone bred those mares & now they were sent to slaughter. Just think of what those poor mares are going through. The babies would have gone too if they had been big enough.
    Disgusting.

To bad! They all look quite cute! The person selling them should really get better pictures of each foal to have a better chance of selling them.

I take it you called and asked if they were going to slaughter or is that a uneducated guess? Why does everything come to slaughter, that is how people make it look bad.

Sick, poor babies :(. I'd also take them if I lived anywhere close, which I don't.

I think slaughter makes the most sense in this situation. Had it been a tragedy, there wouldn't be 5 foals together. And they stated the mares were bought without the goals. Who else buys 5 mares and discards the foals at 1 1/2 months old? Had it been a private auction buyer, they wouldn't have left the foals.

All the pieces fit that the mares were purchased and the foals were too small to be of weight worth.

Could be someone wanted the mares but not the generic foals. Yes - it does happen. Mares could be headed for a PUM farm or even nurse mares.

Also - how does the CL ad poster know the foals are 6 weeks old?

    Lots of holes here.
