So I just got into riding a handsome Arabian gelding, and while brushing I noticed a few interesting whorls and recalled Marguerite Henry's "King of the Wind"... When Sham, a Moroccan Arab in the Sultan's stables is born, a Signor examines the colt for marks or cowlicks. Each one carries a different meaning, and adds or detracts value to a horse. I searched it online, and found this page this page about whorls.
My Arab has the whorl of the coffin on his withers, and I am destined to die in the saddle... Guess I'd want to spend my last moments up there anyways! What does it say about your horse? Do you guys know any more about the history behind it?
