worst experience with an electric fence?

Mine was today. I was weed whacking near an electric fence and the weed whacker got tangled in the fence. I managed to shut off the weed whacker, but I couldn't get the strap off, so I stood there for at least five minutes getting shocked, yelling like a crazy lady (and cussing like a sailor- I used words I didn't even know existed hahaha) until a girl finally heard me and shut off the fence. I was pulsing for a good 10 minutes after. I'm laughing now- it was so ridiculous! The girl who shut off the fence saw me and just cracked up. Anyway, what are your worst/funniest shock stories?

LOL, I've been knocked on my butt by some pretty powerful chargers over the years but I think the funniest one was on our little weak charger here at the house. It was before I re-did the fence and we just had a single strand of wire around the pasture. I went to squat down to go under it, but at that moment, a dog ran up and stuck his nose directly in my mouth. That caused me to pick my head up...and the wire caught me right across the top of my skull. When it popped me, it felt like it shot sparks between my fillings...and my neurons sizzled for a few minutes afterward. Caused a little bit of trouble with my fine motor control LOL.

Well, I guess that explains it...

At the moment, it was tortuous! But it started being funny right after! Maybe it's all that extra electricity floating in my head right now! On the bright side- IT works better than coffee! I am so awake and hyper right now and I'm not going to bed tonight!!!

Trained
My worst? I sent a gelding out for training and I leaned over to give him a pet. I was, of course, unaware of the wire and my boobs stick out first so... Yeah. It was...Interesting.

When I lived in Europe electric fences were essentially used everywhere. It was on most properties. You could actually buy special rubber boots who would allow you to stay grounded and install those fences without getting shocked. Was pretty happy to see most properties on the American continent do not use them.

This isn't nearly as funny or interesting as the other stories but I have dropped the chain attached to the gate onto the live wire. A couple times. The gate was metal and my boots aren't rubbery so I have to creatively knock the chain off the wire while the horses watch.

I strung some hot wire once. Got it all strung, turned it on, and swiped the back of my hand across it to feel the tingle. Nothing. Tried again. Nothing.

Foster son (6 years old) is watching and reaches up and grabs the wire. It WAS hot! Poor kid looked at me like "Why'd you let me get hurt?"

It was then I realized that I had my irrigation boots on.

This young man and I are still in contact and he's STILL playing the "you owe me" card because of this incident! Always gets him a bigger piece of cake or pie!
