Wow, what the past few weeks have brought.

Well it started two weeks ago when a friend offered to board my gelding for me for a price I couldn't refuse. I love my old BO, but her facilities were lacking and my motivation was non existent. So I made the move, and what a world of difference it made. I have actually been riding my gelding for a chance. I started working him in ranch sorting last year, but never got serious with it. Decided on a whim Saturday to haul him to a competition, and he did great. He was a pro and we placed pretty good. I am hooked. I already planned to take him to another competition this Saturday.

Tuesday I got him up and was planning to ride, and his back is sore. I always male a habit of checking backs before I ride, and as I ran my fingers down his spine, he hollowed out really bad. So he gets Bute and a vacation. I'm thinking I worked him too hard to soon.

I wanted to ride, so I got with permission, the farm owners gelding out and saddled him up. He was a dream to ride. Very soft in the mouth, and just a doll. I am in love. I decided he could possibly be my old man's replacement, so I arranged to take him to a neighbor's today and work on his cows.

Today he was a pita, but we had fun. He was fresh and buddy sour, but as I was hoping, did great on the cows. Now his training begins. After the ride, I untacked, and noticed horrible sweat marks. Now I'm thinking I just need a new saddle!!!

I've been looking for an excuse lol.

Wow, eventful week you've had there. At least you found a lovely place to board out of it though, and a potential new horse :).

I wish, the horses owner would never sell him. Which is good because I can't afford one horse, much less two.

I DoD get an offer to borrow a pony for the sorting competition Saturday,.so that should be fun.
