Yay for Cinny and Yay for me!

After playing waiting list roulette with a few training stables in the area Cinny FINALLY got into a stable/training program! We moved last night. The stable is BEAUTIFUL as I believe it is a historic race horse farm, have to look in to that but the buildings are oh so fancy and l look more like mansions than barns (yes there will be photos later). We will be working with my new trainer Jane, whom I've been working with over winter as she trains there, as well as working with her partner who also does Western Dressage as Cinny is at a fork in the road and we think he may be more suited to Western Dressage as the big gaits aren't as expected but using his body properly is. Both trainers specialize in "non-traditional" breeds doing dressage, APHA, AQHA, ApHA, etc.

2013 training starts Wednesday, I'M SO EXCITED. First show is going to be the Annual Shaggy Horse Dressage Show the first week of April. It will be so nice to have a trainer help me more with tack, and exercise/training program, and adjusting feed and supplements to best suit Cin Man.

This is going to be a great year!

Thanks guys, and yes so very exciting. Even Cin was excited and practically lept into the trailer to leave the old place. So far, so good. We went for a "get acquainted" spin in the arena which was more like a "let's race in the new arena" trip. He settled down once other people came in with their horses. Some people recognized him from shows and commented on his progress since the last time they saw him. This makes me feel like I'm on the right track with the new trainer :)

Our ONLY issue so far is, he won't go in the wash room. It's small, dank, echos and is a bit scary. So, he is going around with mud caked to various parts that his blanket doesn't cover for now. When I have a full day to work with him, we will work on tackling that wash room. When he realizes there is cozy warm water in there, I'm sure he will like it more :)

Where did you end up going? Sounds like a lovely place! Are you riding with Jane F?

Maybe if he went in with another horse to get washed....or if he watched another horse go in and realized that the other horse didn't get eaten by a monster. LOL
