yea my first run with my new guy :)

So I have been waiting for this day to come since I brought this new arabian home. Its been 30 days tomorrow and I already recieved the new coggins for him. Yay to no health issues :)

I have been spending alot of time desentizing him as he generally freaks at almost anything when in the arena but hardly anything when on the trail. So I am going to push him alittle more in an open setting.

The first big event to happen for him... is the biggest event of them all
The other horses meeting him is going on saturday :) hope everyone gets along and doesn't get to badly hurt. Hopefully pictures if I remember

Then sunday I plan on taking him out to our public trail system and doing some cardio with him. One of my friends is bringing her dog and we plan on doing some running.

Yes I will be running with my horse with me on the ground :). I used to do this every weekend with my other horse denny. And it helped with some bonding and I can't wait to try it with him. I hope he is excited like I am ... hahaha we plan on doing about 10 miles out stop relax and do another 10 back to the trailer.

This will be the start of us getting in shape :)

Sounds like you should look into Run and tie, They have it at Foxcatcher. You have to look up the details but the basic is 1 horse 2 people and a 25-40 mile trail. Rider A and horse take off riding, while rider b runs. After a ways, the horse gets tied up, and Rider A takes off running. Rider b catches up to horse unties gets on horse rides passes rider a a ways, ties up the horse gets off and runs. So basically all three parts of the team go through a run/rest cycle.
But ummm, ee gadds running ten miles makes me hurt thinking about it.
