Are you KIDDING me!!!!!!!

I was sitting on my couch folding laundry looking out my window thinking what a beautiful day it is today. I then noticed that Twister (my curious horse) Has his nose poked into the chicken coop and I though it was rather cute. ( I had opend up the door to the coop to let the chickens have the run of the yard today. There were chickens coming out between his legs and he was taking it all in stride. Just being nosey.

Exibit A ) Nosey Twister

Exibit B ) the chicken coop

It was a short lived warm and fuzzy moment. It struck me like a bolt of lightening that I didn't see Dumas!!!

I got up and went to the window to see if I could get an eye on him. NOPE...No Dumas anywhere to be found. I decided that I should go outside and look for him. As I was slipping on my shoes Eli (my 5yo son) Came bursting into the front door screaming " DUMAS is IN the Chicken Coop!!!!!" Which I responded like any loving mother would " WHAAAAAAAAATTTTTT???!!!!" Eli repeated himself and I ran out barefoot to the chicken coop where I found my 15 HH, headshy horse standing IN the coop!!!! He was attempting to rob my poor defenceless chickens of a bit of lasy years hay that I had let my daughter line their laying boxes with.

Can you Imagine!!!!!! I scolded Dumas he was a little child. I said "Dumas!" "You march yourself right out of there this instant!" And ya know what? HE DID!!!!! He was even holding his head low...He KNEW he shouldn't have been in there!

He made a mess of the place. I have lost all of today's eggs. The perches that we had made for the chickens to roost on are in shambles and the waterer has a big dent in it!!!

I would be angry if it wasn't so darn cute! I just thought you would all get a kick out my story!

Exibit C) Dumas the coop raider

Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don't be afraid or discouraged by the size of the task, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.

That just gave me the smile I needed today!

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.

Mine have never gotten in the coop but pretty close. I walked out one day and heard a banging in the feed area of my barn (also where my chicken coop is) All 4 horses had gotten in there, gotten the metal lids off the cans and were chowing down. Vida had her head in the cracked corn/horse cookie can, Fras and Shiloh's heads were in the horse feed and Saro had her head buried in the chicken feed. This is a pretty small barn so it was a real trick getting them all turned around and out the door so I can imagine what a time you had getting Dumas out of your coop. I bet you don't get many eggs tomorrow you hens got so upset
