Talking You know you love your horse when....

We all do crazy things for our horses to make them happy because we love them and I think it would be fun to share them! Just finish the phrase "You know you love your horse when..." I don't know if this thread has ever been started but I thought it would be cute! If you have multiples just write them all!

Here is mine-

you get excited to ride in 9 degree weather
you love barn chores

I have a couple.. You know you love your horse when you go out to the barn just to see him. You know you love your horse when you slip on ice ,fall, grap his halter, and he pulls you up without freaking out :). (this happens to me daily). You know you love your horse when you brag about him!!!!

ooo this is fun!

you know you love your horse when.....you wake up christmas eve and make hrose cookies all morning for her.... then she spits them out. when you wake up every day thats not a school day and jump out of bed to quickly get dressed to go to the barn, even when you have to bike through snow. when you accidentily call your friends by your horses name because you are around her way more then your friends. when you turn down an invitation to go to the 2010 olympics because you would rather be at home, mucking stalls.

If there are no horses in heaven... im not going.

You know you love your horse when she bites you, attempts to kick you, and blows snot on you every day and you still give her cookies for being a "good girl"

You know you love your horse when you go out in the middle of the night because there is a snow storm and give her some more hay to keep warm

You know you love your horse when you get her a goat as a companion even though your parents said "NO GOATS!"

You know you love your horse when you blow big bucks on a pretty new saddle pad for her even though you wanted to go to that Green Day concert.

You know you love your horse when you dont mind being slobbered on from "clover drool". You know you love your horse when you work a 16 hour shift and all of the money you made goes to hay! You know you love your horse when the inside of your car and all of your clothes are covered in his hair and smell like him :)

You know you love your horse when you think his smell should be sold byperfume dealers everywhere and when you carry around an apple in your purse (your horses favorite treat) and tell the kids when they are in the fridge getting an apple to be sure and save some for Major

Oh so very true!

You know you love your horse when you are getting up every 2 hours to treat her/his eye per instruction of the vet.

You feed/water/clean them before you feed/water/clean yourself!

Your first question to the hubby when you get home after working late is "how are the horses".

You always manage to have money for anything they need, and put yourself dead last and don't mind at all!

You know you love your horse when...

You drive to 5 pastures in any weather to take them a bit of corn and check and pet them all. (20 horses)

You are happy to do chores that make their life easier.

You have no problem sleeping in a stock (open) horse trailer in the freezing rain over night to stay with your orphan colt who is colicking.

You stay up 2 days and one night to walk a foal that has only a 40% chance of survival (due to throat injury) anyways so he at least doesn't go to colic.

You have no problem with the smell of horse crap and smoke, in fact that is your favorite smell because it means you are camping with your horse.

You refuse to date a guy that has an issue with you coming over grimy, sweaty, smelly, and generally horsey smelling.

You miss your horse more than your boyfriend while you are away at school. (and he's ok with that)

You hate to be up early, but for a trail ride you will get up happily at 4am so you can feed and ride before its too hot.

Oh I forgot to add.....

You bring a newborn horse in your house because there is an ice storm, and he stays inside for a week until its warms up. You also have to carry him up and down stairs so that he can get exercise.

You run out into a lightning storm in your pajamas to get your beloved yearling into the barn, because the babysitter wouldn't let him in her stall. And it was such a calm, pretty night when you let him out... don't you hate that.
