Your favorite aspect of horses?

I was sitting here today going throw pics and videos of JJ and Scrat and seeing how much they have matured. And got me thinking about what peoples favorite aspect of horses were.

My favorite aspect of horses would be the whole training part. I LOVE training them from start to finish on the pattern especially, such a thrill for me. I love watching them improve, progress, and get better every day, week, month, year. I love the ups and downs of training each individual horse and working them through it to the end. It is just the experience that is the ultimate day in and day out for me to go ride. Ijust LOVE it and seeing them get better is the ultimate reward for me.

So what is your favorite aspect?

Conformation is how far the horse CAN go,
Mind is how far the horse WILL go,
Training is how far it DOES go.

I think you just summed up my favorite aspect for me. I like watching them progress through the training and improve each ride. It is a thrill each time they catch onto something new, or in my older horses cases each time they get faster at a show.

I can't pick one, so I'll put two. Haha.
My first would have to be the fact that this huge animal is allowing you to ride on his back, trying their heart out to please you. When in only seconds they could easily kill you,but they don't. That's incredible to me.

My second would be how they can tell what mood you're in. Whenever I'm upset, my girl can tell the moment she sees/hears me and comes rushing up, puts her head over my back and pulls me against her. She then proceeds to act as silly as possible to get me to smile. (:

What they have done for me. Been in the vicinity of horses most of my life but didn't ride or train, for lots of reasons. Been working most of my life to be less of a critical judgemental jerk with a hot temper Made minimal progress-then had a good friend start me on gentle horsemanship training a year ago. Made progress in areas of my life that had never been able to make inroads before. Horses are incredible windows to your own soul. I'm finally getting growth in areas of my life that nothing else has worked.

I have to say my overall favorite aspect is the bond i have with my lena. We know each other so well . She lets me do things that if others dd it she would freak. Like hold a plastic bag in front of her lol. She knows when im there shes safe and ill make whatever needs to b made better better. She also can read me better than i can read myself and knows just what to do. I dont think i would have made it the past few yrs without her.

Theres too many for me to decide but I definately like training, and figuring out the horse. Its like a puzzle and you have to piece everything together to get a better bond and positive response out of the horse.

That sense of oneness in that "perfect" moment when there's no one else in the world but you and that big beautiful animal.

Sounds like romantic bull, huh! But I swear, it can occur. Most likely somewhere you least expect it too LOL

My favorite part has got to be when my mare is being a crabby pants about the silliest stuff such as grooming her belly or trimming her mane.....not ;) but thats what I signed up for when I bought two females xD

My favorite thing about horses is when something finally 'clicks' for them, and you see them practically light up with excitement. The feeling of helping an animal understand your language is thrilling, IMO- and having a very bright mare, we're always working on new things.

Everyone in your life is meant to
be in your journey, but not all of
them are meant to stay till the end.
