I was just thinking about this yesterday. Once I get an older, better trained horse, a bunch of new doors will open up for me. I've always wanted to show, do edurence, trails, team chasing... So many other things! What are some of your goals? It can also be improving your riding and things like that
My main goal is trying to get me and Phoebe ready for the 1.10m it't 10cm higher then what we are jumping at the minute in competition and I would really like to move up a level.
My long term goal is to represent Ireland in show jumping all over the world
My short term goal is to get through to jump at the RDS Dublin Horse Show next August
to be starting to grasp second level dressage (on my current horse) by the end of 2012. I am a first level rider on a training level horse and we are making great progress, he's only 5 and show green. I would love to be higher than second level by 2012 but that's hilariously unrealistic. Also I would like to do a half-day trail ride on my horse sometime, just for fun. And be able to jump 3ft in the next year or so (I have jumped that high before but I don't think he has), I don't really have any clear jumping goals because I am never going to show jumping just doing it for variety.
after i get my credit cards paid off, i'm buying a horse trailer and will take paul to some area shows for halter and western pleasure. until then, i'm working on getting more comfortable with him and his cutting abilities. i haven't ridden in 15 years so i feel like i'm still pretty new to this too.
I'd like to jump 3ft next year- I know my trainer wants me to move up.
Short term, at the show this weekend I want to NOT swap leads in at least one class. He has gotten the horrible habit of swapping off his right lead when jumping, very annoying
