Summer/august. This is my favourite t ime of year partly because it is when non of the shetlands are due worming or delicing or foot trimming which I have been doing for 8 and 1.2 hours on saturday and 4 hours today. That is olny for 8 shetland ponies. The other reason is it is the only time of year that there are shows up here loce it and can't wait to show season as I went to my first show inhand with one of my fillies and loved it. But we only get about a week of proper of summer all the rest of the time it is raining. The only down side are the midgies. (Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!)

Fall is by far the best season for riding to me. Leaves are beautiful. Temps are perfect for riding, horses are perky without being completely nuts, and flies are long gone. Just today as we galloped through the woods, I couldn't think of anything better than that.

You just have to see your distance...you don't have to like it.

Late fall and early winter are my favorite times – Oakey's so much more personable then. I also like it when he breaths on and licks my hands to keep them warm. :)

Personally, I adore late summer/early fall... it's still warm enough to take the horses swimming without it being too hot, and then it's nice and cool at night...

I love when spring turns to summer, when it's just starting to get warmer, and the days are getting longer so I get to spend more time outside with them rather than using my phone's flash to poopick at 5pm!
I love how there aren't any flies around then so I can really work on my riding without Lottie getting distracted.
And I love how the ground isn't made of frozen mud and we can start to pick up the pace and start getting back up to fitness.

Mount up and leave your troubles behind on the ground.

Fall is probably my favorite season because of how beautiful the scenery is when trail riding and doing the chores in the crisp Fall mornings.
