    Is your horse in love?

    Mine sure is xD

Red Man (4 yr gelding) and Baby Girl (4 yr mare) are 'Offical' now. Day before last I caught them grooming in the lean-to!. In broad daylight, nonetheless!

Loki just worries about her, I took her out for a lesson the other day and he spent the entire hour she was gone calling at the gate. Thankfully he's not as love-struck and starry-eyed as Red Man (whom I sure is completely useless without Baby now).

Next thing you know, Red and Baby are going to be exchanging sweet nothings and talking about getting serious, settling down at a nice stable, maybe even one with private turnout and winter blankets.

I think Red's forgotten that the vet removed his knockers a good three years back. At least I don't have to worry about any Red Jr's running around the place 11 months from now!

Oh boy. My last horse crawled under the fence the get to the mare beside him that was very anti social but they became unseperable. Every time I would go to let him back out he would nicker to her it was so cute!

I don't know about love, but my mare was crazy in season last week. Females are fickle, however, and last night, we casually rode past the grey dapple stallion who had been so enthralling just a few days before, and she casually snubbed her nose at him.

My yearling filly(Patches) is turned out with a 2 year old gelding(Four). They are inseperable. If I take her out, he'll run the fence line and call to her. If he gets taken out, she'll call to him but she doesn't believe in running for love. =P He goes to a lot of shows so he comes in a night sometimes and they will call back and forth all night. When they graze, there noses are touching. Its so darn cute!

My gelding is incredibly gay for my mom's gelding, Buddy, no lie. He can't get enough of him. They are stalled in half covered paddocks with a wall between them that goes halfway down the length and Kainne always stands outside just to stare at him. It will be pouring rain and he will be shivering and soaking wet with crazy wind and I'll go out there and find him standing out there in the rain, faced towards Buddy who will be safely tucked away under his cover, eating.
He's buddy sour as heck when I separate them, when I turn them out together he's always trying to get close to him and just touch him all over with his nose...not even biting him or being dominant (though he is the more dominant horse between the two), just touching him. I'm fairly sure he even tries to mount him, though Buddy nails him in the chest whenever he tries and he's never been successful.
Poor guy doesn't understand that no means no!
Buddy just kind of tolerates him.
It must be so lonely being Kainne.

Mine isn't, but the geldings in the family are, geldings can be so annoying sometimes! We have two boys (sister and brother in law's horses) and two girls (my mare, and our project pony (co owned)), but had our neighbor's previous mare here for a few days while we had her up for sale, now we've been letting their new mare stay here (we're helping her 10 year old beginner owner). The girls like the boys ok (well maybe not the neighbor's new mare, she'd prefer they leave her alone) and get along w/ everyone, but the boys fight w/ each other and stay stuck up the girls' butts, they're such dorks. Right now Magic is completely smitten w/ Genie (pony), Wizard was in LOVE w/ the neighbor's previous mare, Sally (who was only here a few days), I guess now he's between girls since the new girls doesn't seem interested, and my mare is not pastured w/ them.
