I was going to do some volunteering at Starry Skies Equine Rescue and Sanctuary.

I just moved to Michigan to finish my university studies so I am looking around for new lesson barns as well. I'm pretty sure I have my mind made up on a lesson barn, but I've never got to experience working with Rescue horses. I feel it is something I can/should do to gain more knowledge and experience for when I own my own horse one day.

Its something I always have wanted to do. I've talked about it with my hubby for years and the plan is that as soon I finish my bachelors degree I can buy my dream house and move in as many kids as I want. I can't wait. I always have kids at my house and may even be granted custody of my niece and nephew next month. I have 3 kids (2 are mine, 1 is step but I claim them all the same, my oldest and my stepson both have 50/50 custody with their other parent) and trying for #4. My major is education and I want to be an FFA/science teacher. Can you tell I love kids LoL My ultimate goal is to open a therapeutic riding facility for foster kids to have an outlet.

I live in Michigan and have heard good things about starry skies. They have a few drafts for adoption that almost tempted me lol. I worked at a rescue in south east Mich. And did not have such a pleasant experience. My shift leader repeatedly punched horses in the neck/face. They always said how they didn't need me and could run the whole place with just 3 people. Also, once I witnessed a perspective adopter come out to ride a horse that was advertised as broke. She was told she could only ride after adoption had been completed. I'm not going to say the name because I don't want them to lose fans for the horses.
