I enjoy making horse treats for my gang of well-loved equines and I thought I would share a few recipes with you. Make sure you do not feed to many though, two each a day is plenty.

Mix 1 cup of chopped appes and or carrots with 1/2 cup treacle, 1/2 cup wheat bran and 1 cup flour. Mix into a sticky dough. Add more water or flour as required. Roll out and cut into shapes with a cookie cutter or place spoonfuls onto a greased oven tray. Bake at 200 celcius until golden on top. Makes 16-20 depending on size.

More recipes coming soon.

Ok. New recipes...

Slice a couple of carrots into sticks. Roll in treacle then roll in oats. Freeze. When slightly thawed, feed to your horse.

Hollow out a pumpkin (be sure to remove ALL seeds) and fill it with treats. Pop the lid back on and place in your horse's paddock. Your horse will play with it for ages, trying to acces the treats inside. Some horses will even eat the pumpkin!
