We've needed a Zenyatta for a long time - and this filly will go down in history as one of my all time favorites, hugely because she wasn't raced until she was almost FOUR. I am crossing my fingers that her enormous success may help to change a thing or two in the racing world. Maybe if more people see this big, stout healthy as an ox filly beating out Derby colts with class, they're question the important of putting out barely 2 year olds.

Go Zenyatta, you are the hero of the racing world we've waited so long for.

And arnt the starters picked out of ranks? And there is an overall HOTY? Oh and just for fun I've hear its the 3rd richest race in the world.

She sure is a bit special!! Im thinking she is the you.S's Makybe Diva..maybe

    Is it handicapped?
Yes, it is handicapped. The overall HOY tear generally comes from the winner but not necessarily. In example, Rachel Alexandra won HOY year last year but she didn't even show at the Breeder's Cup

I've watched all her races! I just about died when she lost. 19 wins and then that :( She's so gorgeous. Watch pre-race when she's in the paddock. Watch her dance, its amazing. She's the best, and she knows it.

I LOVE Zenyatta..I still think she deserves HOY. She has done far more than most other race horses out there by simply being 19-0 for some time. Heck, I think 19-1 is not too shabby at all.

She is a gorgeous mare and I hope she gets the retirement she deserves. I am in just love with her, I got a Zenyatta shirt hehe..

Zenyatta didn't 'deserve' to win any more than any other horse in the race.

She was the favorite, and just couldn't do it. There's no shame in that.

She had 20 starts and 19 wins. That's impressive, regardless of whether or not she lost her last race.

Secretariat, in my opinion the greatest race horse that ever lived, didn't win every race he started. Still didn't make him any less an amazing animal with a superb race record.

Let's hope Zenyatta can pass on her speed and stamina. Lord knows, I'd like to see another Triple Crown winner before I die!

    Regan7312: I have a Zenyatta shirt too!

Speed Racer: Haha, I totallly agree with everything in your post. Welll...except for the Scretariat part because Zenyatta is the BEST racehorse I ever saw. I'm still young, yet to see a Triple Crown be won, and would love to see one of Zenyatta's foals win it. That would be awesome!

By the way, I can't wait to see who they breed her to too! She's back at Hollywood Park now and will remain there for about a month before her future is completely certain. I would love to see her race in the Duabi World Cup. Wouldn't that be something?

Definitely with you in wanting to see a Triple Crown winner! The 2004 Belmont still drives me crazy so we wont talk about Smarty Jones...
My favorite, though, would have to be Man O' War (another great nicknamed Big Red)! His record was close to Zenyatta's, though he won 20 for 21 & set incredible records for his time.
I'm going to go out on a limb & say that Zenyatta would have even kicked Ruffian's butt in a match (my opinion, nobody hate me! LOVE Ruffian, hence my username lol). I think the world has a new greatest filly though! She should definitely be HOY. Don't she how she can't be...
