Wait, had she won, would she have been the only filly to ever win the Breeder's Cup Classic?

She won it last year and is the only mare (she was 5 then) to do so.

Wow, what an amazing run she had. 19-1 is a spectacular record, what an amazing horse. (: Zenyatta had an amazing recovery, coming up from, what, 20 lengths behind? I was reading a report on the race and it said that she wasn't too used to the dirt being kicked up in her face, only racing on dirt twice before, since she is used to running on synthetic surfaces. Also, the reason why they keep on saying that her 20th win will put her in the history books is because she would become the first American Thoroughbred to win 20 consecutive races. ;) Still, congrats to Blame for the win, beating Zenyatta by a nose is a pretty impressive feat.

I felt really sad when she lost. I didn't see the race as it was night time here, but I am going to look for it on the internet. For me Zenyatta is a great horse who did very well. For me she is in the history books. Maybe it was to much to ask for her to win all 20 runs. But that is just a thought I have.

It's pretty crappy that had it been a different race, on a different surface she could have won it. Bet her owners are kicking themselves right now.

Poor girl. If you get the close up of her while running the race you can see her flinching and avoiding when the dirt hits her. She was still massivly impressive and fought for every stride.

My favorite part is when they are coming down the backstretch and you get a full frontal view of the top 5 or so horses. You can just see how much wider in the chest she is than the rest of the field.

She's an amazing horse. I hope she lives a long life full of successful babies.

I had a chance to see the ride and it was sad to see that she lost on just a noselenght or even less. She gave all she had, but Blame was just a bit better. But for me she is a super horse. A horse who wins 19 of her 20 races is phenomenal for me.

Absolutely amazing race, I think in years to come no one will remember the winner's name, everyone will remember Zenyatta running like the wind and getting so so close!

I feel the same way about it. For me Zenyatta goes into the historybooks.
