Red face ~Real Story on Meredith Manor from a Student~

I went to Meredith Manor for two quarters and 1/3 of the third quarter.... Honestly you might think its great from lookin at the website... But when you actually get there and "look behind the show they are putting on" its bad.... Im not exaggerating prolly 90% of the students are drug addicts and im not talking just weed. And if you go u will prolly end up one because im not kiddin you EVERYONE does it. I've even heard stores about the instructors but I dont know for sure on them.... The dorms are horrible!! The buses are horrible.... I lived in a crate and they are decent. If you dont mind the thought of living in a train crate.... I didnt graduate.... I quit because of financial reasons and i had no help from my parents... And when i quit i got a letter saying some of my loans were returned and now i owe them like 4500 now.... And im like if there was loans left it shoulda been given to me... i took out loans for a reason because i have no money now to pay..... I dont know if they can actually do that Im gonna look into it... But really if you dont have a strong will or a strong personality to deal with all the drugs I wouldnt go if I were you. And if you hate doing A LOT of work I defiantly wouldnt go then either.... It is a TON of work. And i was only part time..... I dont know how the full time students did it.... I woulda keeled over from exhaustion. and I actually like working..... Another thing... If you dont like dealing with crazy horses i DEFIANTLY would not go there.... Basically how it goes as you progress they just put you on crazier horses thats all. And granted sure it really teaches you how to ride ANYTHING.... But if you dont like that type of thing... not the place for u...

On a more positive note all the riding is dressage based even the western. I think the program itself despite all the hidden things that people dont know about till they get there its a good program if you like to work your ass off.... Especially if you dont have a lot of riding experience... It gave me a HUGE confidence boost. I dont think im ever nervous around new horses anymore or when I ride a new one. In the 7 months I was there i learned a ton...Even though I didnt graduate. I could easily start a young horse if I wanted to....

Sorry for this ridiculously long post haha I just figured you would all like to know the real story from a student.
