Okay. I'm coming to the point where I'm needing a trailer. My mare and I are starting to get really active with showing and competing. Most of our rides are in other states. Last weekend I traveled 660 miles round trip and spent a total of 12 hours driving. These shows are FAR. I can't go about hitching rides everywhere. Having to hitching rides with other is disadvantageous in many, many ways. Notably, I want to start gaited shows. No one I know happens to be traveling up to the gaited show on any given weekend, so hitching a ride is impossible.
Sooo... I'm going to need a starter trailer. I've never bought a trailer before. I need some starting point advice, recommendations, where to buy used (new will very likely too expensive)...
Here's some information.
-- I have a Ford F-150 to haul with.
-- I need a two horse, since I only have one horse.
-- I like slant load, personally.
-- I'm going to be sleeping and spending weekends in this sucker, so I need a tack room that will fit an air mattress.
-- I don't care if it has power and water hookups. I have batteries and a cooler.
-- Basically, I need something with bare bones features, but with quality construction. It MUST be safe and comfortable for my horse.
